On March 2nd, after a ten-day trial, the jury returned a verdict of some $11,400,000 in David Scott v. University of Utah, #110917738. (Judge Su Chon, Third District Court for Salt Lake County.) (See my post of February 20th.)
This is the largest medical malpractice brain injury verdict in Utah, to my knowledge. I also do not know of any jury trial verdicts before this one against the University of Utah.
Post-trial motions for judgment n.o.v. or new trial will be heard by Judge Chon on May 22nd at 9:00 a.m.
